Seniors who hope to be selected for the spring Rites of Passage trip must participate in these pre-requisite outings to prepare them for their Rites expedition. They will work on wilderness skills and spend time on self reflection and vision casting. Students will stay in cabins.

This expedition serves as preparation for the summer expedition team or as an invitational leadership training for student leaders in the UrbanPromise Academy.  Students gain experience in camping, backpacking, hiking, and team building.

A premier, early season charity ride to raise money for experiential learning at UrbanPromise Ministries. UrbanPromise Academy will be forming an Elite Cycling Team which will consist of students who commit to a twelve week training and conditioning regimen in preparation for the bike ride. Students not part of the Elite team will help with the event day operations.

A 6-day intensive outdoor expedition for invited graduating seniors. Students will canoe through the Saranac Lakes of New York and participate in hiking, rock climbing, and extensive reflection and journaling. The trip culminates in a 24-hour solo on individual islands in Lower Saranac Lake.

Connecting to Urban Waterways

UrbanPromise is pleased to offer Connecting to Urban Waterways to the incoming freshman class of CACHS.  We have a long-standing history of serving children and youth in Camden and look forward to continuing our partnership with CACHS in this program. 

Programming involves:

·  Paddling instruction with UrbanPromise’s Urban BoatWorks Program Director

·  Paddling on the Cooper River with personal floatation devices and supervision by certified lifeguards

·  Participation in land-based modules related to ecology and environmental science
