Become a RiverGuide!

Want a fun, outdoors and environmental summer job? Consider becoming a RiverGuide!

You will become a canoe expext and paddle the Cooper River and local waterways in a group of 8 youth. Besides that, you get to learn about environmental science, go on trips, and get involved with the local community.

Throughout the summer season, the RiverGuides take approximately 300 community members on 10 ecology history paddle trips on the Cooper River. You'd help guide these community paddles by providing safety briefings, teaching paddling strokes, and by sharing historical and ecological information along the Cooper River. You are able to practice your public presentation skills, to build confidence, and to feel senses of community ownership and pride during you time a RiverGuide.

The job starts in the beggining of June with an afterschool schedule and becomes full-time (6 hours a day) after the last day of school.
