Assistant Director of Experiential Learning
Joann has a BS in Mechanical Engineering, certification to teach K-12 math, and an environmental stewardship certification. She has been working at UrbanPromise for seven years as a math teacher in our high school; five of those years she was co-teaching with Urban BoatWorks. Though she loved teaching in the classroom, her favorite part of the job was always chaperoning on Trekker trips. Now as UrbanTrekkers’ Assistant Director of Experiential Learning, Joann assists in designing and implementing those outdoor expeditions and our experiential learning curriculum.
