Rachel Abbott has a B.S. in Environmental Science and Policy from University of Maryland, a Master of Public Health degree from Johns Hopkins University, and a Master of Social Work degree from University of Maryland. She also holds a Wilderness First Responder certification. Rachel brings her interests in community and environmental health to the Urban Promise community. As the Environmental Education Program Director, she is focused on creating meaningful and fun outdoor and environmental education experiences for youth both within the Urban Promise community and the greater Camden community. Her passion lies in teaching young people about their surrounding environment, so that they feel an increased connection with the nature around them. She believes this increased connection will grow the next generation of environmental stewards and leaders. A lover of the outdoors herself, she loves sharing her knowledge with students.
