3 Day Outdoor Leadership Training

About This Trek...

A three day expedition for the 10-12th grade students at the Delaware Water Gap located in the New Jersey highlands. Students will acquire proficiencies in map reading, proper use of camping equipment, and tenting while hiking a distance of 20 miles on the Appalachian Trail.

Outdoor Adventures

Trekkers backpack around 15 miles of the Appalachian Trail in the Delaware Water Gap. They gain training in map reading, proper use of camping equipment, tenting, leadership, and customary trail practices (lead, sweep, lost hiker procedures) through simulation activities. 

Leadership Training & Team Building

Trekkers learn the value of a positive group mentality and teamwork through hiking and camping on the trail. Appointed student leaders will be in charge of caring for the group’s wellbeing and safety.

  • 3.5-mile backpack
  • Swim and water retrieval at Sunfish Pond
  • Camp on the trail
  • Evening journaling

  • Camp and swim at Camp Mohican
