About This Trek...
Each spring break, a five-day expedition is offered to all UrbanPromise Academy students. The location and activities vary each year. Past spring breaks have been spent rafting, hiking, and biking in Tennessee; exploring the Pacific Northwest; and trekking through the Blue Ridge Mountains. This year students will participate in a Civil War History Tour through the Shenandoah Valley.

Outdoor AdventuresThe outdoor activities of our 2015 spring break trip include hiking and exploring caves in Shenandoah National Park and whitewater rafting on the Shenandoah River.

Cross Cultural ExperiencesDuring this trip, the Trekkers will visit a Mennonite farm to learn about their culture and way of life. |
Historical PerspectivesMuch of this trip will be focused on the history of the Civil War, visiting multiple battlefields as well as the home of Thomas Jefferson to learn about the history of slavery in the United States. |
